Blue, Gray & Bayous, the only tour operator in Louisiana focused entirely on the Civil War era in Louisiana, offers private hire guided hiking tours within Port Hudson State Historic Site.  Port Hudson was the longest true military siege in American history; longer than Vicksburg!  Guides for Blue, Gray & Bayous takes guests on a guided hiking tour of Port Hudson State Historic Site, traversing the over six miles of hiking trails that take guests throughout the State Park, which protects close to 30% of the original battlefield and siege works of Port Hudson.  Visit surviving earthworks, forts, and rifle pits that still survive from the siege of Port Hudson during the Civil War, while your guide tells you in depth history and personal accounts of the battles and siege of Port Hudson.  Guided tours depart from the visitor center at 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.  Guided tours of the battlefield offered by Blue, Gray & Bayous is a private service offered to the public while visiting Port Hudson State Historic Site.  All applicable fees owed to Port Hudson State Historic Site are separate from the cost of a private guided tour offered by Blue, Gray & Bayous.
