Golf in New Orleans – Way More Than 18-Holes

Day 1 – Arrive in New Orleans and play the historic *Golf Club at Audubon Park, one of the oldest courses in the state and it’s located right on the streetcar line. After golf, enjoy a sunset dinner cruise on the Mighty Mississippi and then immerse yourself in an authentic musical experience by catching a performance at any local hotspot in and around the New Orleans French Quarter.

Day 2 – After a leisurely breakfast at your New Orleans hotel, play 18 holes at *Bayou Oaks at City Park – South Course, designed by Rees Jones, the par 72 layout has been designed to accommodate players of all skill levels. Spend the afternoon exploring City Park, an urban park as unique as the city of New Orleans, the 1,300-acre park has enchanted New Orleanians since 1854, making it one of the nation’s oldest urban parks. Wander through the Botanical Gardens, stroll beneath 800-year old live oaks, ride the antique wooden carousel, explore the Beshoff Sculpture Garden and visit the New Orleans Museum of Art. Enjoy dinner at a local New Orleans restaurant.

Day 3 – After breakfast at the hotel, play a morning round at Pete Dye’s masterpiece, *TPC Louisiana, spend the afternoon strolling down Magazine Street enjoying the shops and art galleries that Magazine Street has to offer. Your night should include a ghost tour, carriage ride or a walking French Quarter tour, before enjoying a meal in New Orleans’ oldest and most visited neighborhood – the French Quarter. Leave a little room for café au lait, chicory coffee and beignets at Café du Monde, before heading back to the hotel. This iconic New Orleans restaurant has been serving visitors since 1862.

Day 4 – After breakfast, head to the west bank of the Mississippi River to play 18-holes at English Turn, designed by Jack Nicklous, the course has water in play on 17 of the 18 holes including the fifteenth island green signature hole. After golf, tour Mardi Gras World, a 300,000 square foot working warehouse where floats are made for Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans, or the National World War II Museum, which focuses on the war that changed the world. On your final night, dine at any number of fine dining or hole-in-the-wall spots in New Orleans’ transformed historic downtown area – South Market District, a five-block area in the historic downtown area at the intersection of the Warehouse/Arts District, Central Business District, Medical District and Sports/Entertainment District.

Day 5 – Depart from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.
