Standup Paddleboarding 101 at Lake Martin

Explore Lake Martin in a whole new way with Pack & Paddle during this fun Stand Up Paddleboard trip and lesson Sept. 22 at 5 p.m. Trip Leader and avid SUP'er Alexis Romero will guide participants on this short evening paddle tour through the cypress and tupelo trees as the sun sets on Lake Martin. This is a great way to get some extra paddleboaring practice and meet new friends. Pack & Paddle will provide instruction, stand up paddleboards and all the gear. Kayak Demo Day at Vermilionville

Pack & Paddle will host this kayak demo day Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Vermilionville Pond in Lafayette. Attendees can try new models from Jackson, Hobie, Wilderness Systems, Native Watercraft, NuCanoe, Wenonah, Riviera, Bote Board and other brands. This event is free. For more information, visit

Paddling Through Time: People & Louisiana's Wetlands

“Paddling Through Time: People & Louisiana’s Wetlands,” presented by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, will offer participants a guided paddle on Cane Bayou, located within the Big Branch National Wildlife Refuge centered in Lacombe. Paddlers will learn about the natural and cultural history of the area, and get a basic introduction to proper canoeing techniques. The excursions last two-three hours and pre-registration is required. All equipment and canoes are provided.
