Pack & Paddle is hosting a Basinkeeper Paddle Trip to Henderson Lake Saturday, Oct. 10, with guides Stacey Scarce and Dean Wilson, the Atchafalaya Basinkeeper. The backdrop for this trip will be the Henderson levee and Henderson Lake area of the Atchafalaya Basin. The group will launch by the Henderson levee and paddle beneath magnificent cypress trees while potentially coming across many species of wildlife that call the area home. While participants enjoy the rich scenery, the guides will explain challenges that the Basin faces today.
Not long ago, there was a scientific study that ranked Louisiana as the nation’s happiest state.
Many reasons likely led to this distinction, but we’re pretty sure our incredible Louisiana cuisine played a role.
Bite into a beignet and see if a smile doesn’t break out.
This lower Mississippi River water trail is a paddling guide that was put together by River Gator, a website started to give experienced paddlers information about paddling from St. Louis to the Gulf of Mexico. This trail starts near Vidalia and takes paddlers by the Three Rivers Wildlife Management Area and the Red River National Wildlife Refuge.
