Baton Rouge is the capital of the Sportsman’s Paradise and home to both LSU and Southern University.

With numerous venues that can accommodate sports ranging from baseball and soccer to waterskiing and golf, the Red Stick takes sports and recreation to the next level! In addition to professional venues, Baton Rouge offers several recreational options through various parks, including skating, biking, boating, and kayaking, to name a few.

Visit Baton Rouge is proud to partner with SportsBR, the local sports commission. Through this partnership, Baton Rouge is able to help secure and service large-scale sporting events in Baton Rouge, providing volunteer and local organizing committee coordination. In addition, we offer site visits, free event marketing, and additional services to ensure a successful sporting event.

Baton Rouge has successfully hosted a diverse range of major sporting events such as:

  • The Louisiana Marathon
  • US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Championships
  • Tiger-Rock Martial Arts World Championship
  • United States Bowling Congress Women’s Championships
  • USA Track and Field Masters Outdoor Championships
  • Marucci World Series
  • National Pro Fastpitch Softball Championship Series
