With two major sports venues and year-round moderate temperatures, Houma is a great option for both indoor and outdoor sports. The Houma Terrebonne Civic Center is a 5,000-seat multipurpose and sports venue, ideal for volleyball, indoor football, wrestling, and more. The Bayou Country Sports Park is the area’s premier tournament venue, with five softball fields, three playing fields that can be configured for soccer or other field sports, and ponds perfect for boating and fishing. 

Widely known as a fisherman’s paradise, Terrebonne Parish is also home to a plethora of swamps, marinas, and coastal waterways that provide a diverse combination of fishing ideal for fishing rodeos. Wildlife parks and gardens add to the overall green space, giving visitors a chance to see the region’s unique flora and fauna up close whether they are competing or not.
