Shopping in Ponchatoula Louisiana

We’re often recognized for our festivals, music and outdoor adventures, but Louisiana shopping is also topnotch. From the boutiques of Lake Charles and the antiques shops in Monroe to the art galleries of New Orleans and the outlet stores in Bossier City, we’ve got just what you are looking for. Be sure to leave room in your suitcase for a souvenir or two. A strand of Mardi Gras beads or a Louisiana cookbook will remind you of your wonderful Louisiana adventure until you are able to visit us again.

Ponchatoula, the oldest incorporated city in the parish, is host to the popular Strawberry Festival every spring. Located in the south end of the parish, Ponchatoula is one of the fastest-growing areas in the state of Louisiana. The city derives its name from the Choctaw Indian language meaning "hair to hang" because of the abundance of Spanish moss on the trees surrounding the area. America's Antique City, Ponchatoula, is stocked with numerous art, antique and hand crafted items in the many restored old buildings in the downtown area.
