The Cypremort Point Paddling Trail No. 2 is a challenging route perfect for experienced kayakers and canoers wanting an all-day adventure. Traverse the lively waters of the Bayou Teche, navigate through narrow canals and paddle through the open waters of the West Cote Blanche Bay. The trail ends when you reach the boat launch in Cypremort Point State Park.

Rest up after your water excursion in one of Cypremort Point’s deluxe cabins where you’ll find cozy, warm beds and necessities. Wake up to the sweet trills and friendly calls of birds greeting the morning sun. The park is the only coastal area reachable by car and features a half-mile stretch of beach ideal for sunbathing, picnicking, fishing, crabbing, waterskiing and sailing.

After a little time on the beach, explore the area which is rich in Cajun and Creole cuisine and history. Sample authentic Creole shrimp and sausage gumbo at Bon Creole or fresh seafood dishes like crawfish étouffée and catfish on the Teche from R&M’s Boiling Point. Take a step 200 years into the past and tour the Jeanerette Museum or visit the New Iberia City Park for boating, sports or meditating in the garden.
