Jurassic World
Dinosaurs in Louisiana??? Yep, “Jurassic World.” Parts of the fourth installment of the wildly popular Jurassic Park series were created – no labs involved, though – right here in the state. While the movie was filmed primarily in Hawai’i and much of the work on the movie was done on soundstages and in editing booths, the chaotic scenes of initial dinosaur attacks at the Jurassic World theme park were actually filmed at Audubon Zoo in New Orleans. From the rare white alligator to macaws, visitors can see animal life as every bit as exotic as velociraptors and triceratopses. These days, we can promise you that no t-rex is stomping the grounds nor are pterodactyls flying overhead, but do watch out for the squirrels!
