Camp Parapet Day Open House

Camp Parapet, formerly Ft. John Morgan, originally a Confederate fortification and later captured by Federal Forces in 1862, was designed to protect the City of New Orleans from assault by river. Visit the original powder magazine, meet uniformed reenactors and have your picture taken, enjoy vintage music and learn period dancing, see historical exhibits of artifacts and weapons, learn about other Civil War and historic sites and events to visit around the state. Gates open 10am-3pm
