Parks & Nature in Cypremort Point Louisiana

Louisiana's nature is abundant. Get outside while on vacation to experience Louisiana's parks and nature up close.

Cypremort Point State Park is a beach and boat launch 25 miles south of New Iberia. The park is located in the heart of Cajun Country (as evidenced by the name of its nearest airport, Acadiana Regional), and is a hidden treasure among Louisiana’s rare beachfront parks. Cypremort Point – Cajun French for “dead cypress” – is a half-mile long stretch of sand, surrounded by bays and barrier islands. With coastal marsh all around, it is also a destination for anglers. Short daytrippers should try out windsurfing or sailing at Cypremort; for overnighters, the state park staff can help book one of the six on-site cabins near the beach.
