The Jefferson Memorial Arch was built in 1923. The arch was erected as a memorial to all the war veterans from Jefferson Parish.  The inscribed names include veterans from the War Between the States, the Spanish-American War, World War I and World War II. The arch is located between the majestic Gretna City Hall building and the Mississippi river.
