Kinder

Kinder is a small west Louisiana town in Allen Parish, on the edge of what's known as the Cajun Prairie. Jim Kinder, a Mississippi native who moved to the area around 1885, opened a small store to serve the families in this remote region. The store known as Kinder's led to local residents naming the town after it.

Kinder's main attraction is Coushatta Casino Resort, the largest of its kind in Louisiana. Featuring more than 100,000 square feet of gaming with 2,800 slots, 70 table games, live poker and bingo, Coushatta also has a 900-room luxury hotel, an RV resort with chalets, children’s activities and an expansive two-acre pool with slides, a lazy river and swim-up bar. Koasati Pines offers 18 stunning holes of golf along rolling hills and glassy lakes, and live entertainment runs the gamut — from top national musical acts and comedians to Vegas-style shows and sporting events.
