Haughton

Haughton is a rural town in Bossier Parish, located about 15 miles east of northern Louisiana's largest metro area, Shreveport and Bossier City. It was founded as a railroad town in the 1880s, and named for a prominent landowning family.

Attractions include Mahaffey Farms, a family operation that supplies numerous Shreveport restaurants with fresh produce. You can visit the farm stand Tuesdays through Saturdays, to see, touch and taste some of the best fresh foods northern Louisiana has to offer.

Also in Haughton: The Touchstone Wildlife & Art Museum. This off-the-beaten-path museum is filled with taxidermied animals, artifacts and art from around the world, and is especially popular with families.
