Forest Hill

Forest Hill is a village that lives up to its name. The city is situated a few miles south of Alexandria, deep in the central Louisiana pine forests. It's surrounded by state and federal nature preserves — most notably, Kisatchie National Forest. The city is also known for its abundance of plant nurseries. In fact, the Louisiana Nursery Festival is held there every March, drawing thousands of attendees to the town of 800.

Rural activities, naturally, are the main attraction to Forest Hill and its surrounding environs. Check out Hayes E Daze Ranch for guided horseback rides down winding trails in Kisatchie National Forest. Visitors can also hike or bike near Forest Hill — the Forest Hill/Camp Claiborne Trail is highly recommended for outdoors lovers looking for a true Louisiana backwoods experience.
