Salty Dog Charters offers some of the best speckled trout and redfish action in all of Louisiana!  It is just a bonus that we are located within 30 miles of the French Quarter and all the fun of New Orleans.  We fish the marsh, bays, and islands located in the north east section of the Mississippi delta.  We are harbored in Shell Beach Louisiana which gives us front door access to Lake Borgne, Biloxi Marsh, Breton Sound, MRGO, and many other top notch fishing locations.  Whether you are after an ice chest full of tasty speckled trout, or the trophy line peeling redfish, Salty Dog Charters will do everything it can to put you on the trip of a lifetime.

This charter is run by Captain Markham Dickson.  A full time charter captain, Captain Dickson is fully licensed and insured.  It is his passion to ensure you catch fish and have fun.  Your day on the water is your day.  We do everything we can to put our clients on quality redfish and speckled trout fishing.  A usual day begins dark and early at the dock making preparations and hitting the water before dawn.  We run out to the sacred fishing grounds and watch the sun rise over the water before arriving at a location determined to be our best bet for action.  This prediction is based on the recent trips and that is where being with a full time guide comes in handy.  Before you get in the boat your captain has already been working for you in the past days chasing redfish and speckled trout all around the marsh, bays, and sound to find the best action for you.  This is your day, and you catch the fish.  Your captain will advise you on how and where to cast, how to fight a big fish ect...  But we like nothing more then to see you cast, hook, and land your fish.

There is more to your trip then top notch redfish and speckled trout fishing.  You will also get to motor out through beautiful scenic salt marsh.  You will see wildlife such as dolphin, nutria, a wide variety of sea and shore birds, as well as the occasional alligator or otter.  Looking out over the salt water marsh grasses has been compared to looking across the great plains in the central United States, and is a beautiful sight to behold.  We see it everyday and it still raises the spirit everytime you see this unspoiled piece of nature before you.

We use quality equipment and live bait to ensure you hook and land more fish.  All of this is included in the cost of your charter.  We know just the gear, tactics, and bait to employ in the giving conditions and will guarantee you will catch fish or your money back!  The vessel is a 22' center console Blue Wave bay boat pushed by a 200hp Yamaha engine.  The craft is also equipped with a Minn Kota 36volt trolling motor to sneak up on the fish.
