This flowing single track in Eddie D. Jones Park has some good climbs and a lot of twists, but it’s a fun, fast trail. It’s almost entirely single track with several opportunities for some good air. The trail crosses the entrance road a time or two, making it accessible to beginners. In addition to the trails maintained by the Parish of Caddo Parks and Recreation Department, the park is the future site of Chimp Haven, a 200-acre chimpanzee sanctuary being developed by a nonprofit group, and an 82-acre cemetery that will be operated by the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs.
To get there, take I-20 to Industrial Loop and head south. Turn right onto Woolworth Road and continue until the intersection with LA-525 (Colquitt Road). Turn right and travel to LA-169. Turn left at LA-169 and travel 1.1 miles to LA-789. Turn left on LA-789 and travel 2 miles to Mike Clark Road. Turn right on Mike Clark Road (next to Macedonia Baptist Church) and follow road to visitor center next to silo. It’s a good idea to check ahead for the park’s open hours. See
