Bayou Bodcau Dam and Reservoir is operated and maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a multi-use project. The recreation area covers some 34,000 acres of public land, providing opportunities for hunting, fishing, camping, picnicking, hiking, biking, canoeing, horseback riding, bird watching and an annual Wildlife and Forestry Festival. The biking trail here was originally a hiking/nature trail that has been redesigned to provide the mountain biker with some of the finest single-track riding in Louisiana. It’s excellent for those who want a taste of big-hill riding and a good workout. From Shreveport, LA, 20 miles east on I-20, then north on LA 157 to Bellevue, 2 miles north on a county road.
