Slidell Little Theatre
Founded in 1963, the 200-seat community theater presents six productions from August to May, plus summer Young Actors Theater (YATs) for ages 4-18 and Theater for Young Audiences (TYA) that presents two productions by kids for kids, plus Senior Actors' Theater (SATs), which is a cast of all seniors. Please visit the SLT's website for the current season of shows and upcoming events.
The spacious, community and member-supported theater is also home to the OffStage Gallery, presented by Slidell's Olde Towne Arts Center, which stages visual art exhibitions in the theater's lobby, in conjunction with each production.
With the Slidell Commission on the Arts, SLT has sponsored various visiting artists and workshops for artistic and technical growth. Like other community theaters in St. Tammany Parish, its final dress rehearsal, usually the Thursday before each opening night of a production, is open to senior citizens of the area as well as to members of the Sunshine House and local rehabilitation facilities. Parking is free, and the facility is handicapped accessible.
