Property Description
Once considered one of the most endangered historical structures in Louisiana, the commissary at the Tioga Heritage Park and Museum has undergone a massive restoration guided by the Secretary of State’s Office and the Tioga Historical Society and will begin its new life as a fully functioning museum and heritage park. The museum’s exhibits highlight the history of the Tioga area, the lumber industry in central Louisiana and the integral role this part of the state has had in military affairs with the many bases and camps dating back to the mid-19th century.
