Get ready for the onslaught of entertainment, food, art and fun every October in Shreveport-Bossier. Be ready for the 2011 festival, scheduled Oct. 1-8 in Festival Plaza.

The annual Red River Revel is an eight-day celebration of music, visual art works and great Louisiana food that includes an educational experience aimed at nurturing the artists. With a great mix of established acts and promising up-and-comers, the lineup of musical artists is sure to keep the crowds rocking. On tap in 2010 were: Steel Magnolia, country music's hottest new duo; The Hunt Family, the Band Perry, Dirtfoot, Sister Hazel and many more.

Meanwhile, more than 100 visual artists converge for the event with a wide variety of works. And don't forget the food, the children's area, street performers and all kinds of Revel-style excitement!

For more than three decades this nonprofit arts festival has celebrated and paid tribute to the finest in visual and performing arts. Held in Shreveport’s Festival Plaza, the event showcases artists from around the country and features live music on three performance stages.

The Red River Revel has been featured on ABC television’s “Good Morning America!” and has been recognized as one of the country’s top arts festival by publications including AAA’s “Southern Traveler.” The Southeastern Tourism Society named it one of the top 20 events in the region.
