Bogalusa's Birthday & Old Fashioned Independence Day Festivities

Parade occurs at 10 a.m. through the streets of Bogalusa. Fireworks start around 8:30 p.m. at the high school stadium. Here is a summary of 2012 event as an example.

1PM-Cassidy Park Old Fashioned 4th of July

1PM-Deli in the Park Grand Reopening, Registration for Washington Parish's Largest Watermelon Contest

2PM-Bike, Wagon and Skate Parade (decorate your bike, wagon or yourself and participate) Entry fee: canned good for the Food Bank. ...Patriotic Hat Contest, Water Balloon Toss, Horseshoes

2:30PM-Watermelon winners announced, Prize winning melons auction

3:15PM-Watermelon eating contest

3:45PM-Seed spitting contest

3-7PM-Music at the Deli, Museums and the Deli in the Park will be open during the day.

7:30PM-BHS Lewis Murray Stadium Opens

8:45PM-All American Fire Works Extravaganza sponsored by American Legion Magic City Post 24 and the City of Bogalusa.
