37th Annual Zwolle Tamale Fiesta Heats Up in Zwolle

                Fall is a great time of year to prepare your favorite tamale recipe and enjoy the amazing blend of spices. The town of Zwolle, LA will host its 37th annual Tamale Fiesta, October 11-13 at the Festival Grounds.    

                The Fiesta kicks off Thursday, October 11th at the Zwolle Festival Grounds with dinner and entertainment at 6:00pm.  Festival gates open Friday at 5:00pm beginning with Johnson Carnival Rides, concessions, arts and crafts, and tamale eating contest.  Plan on dancing to music by Don Rich and DJ Bradley Byley 7:30pm – 11:30pm. 

Saturday begins with the parade at 10:00am; gates open at 11:00.  Enjoy lots of activities including the Spanish costume contest, arm wrestling contest, tamale judging, tamale eating contest, and much more.  The Fiesta Mud Bog is at 1:00pm.  Dance to music of Overland Express, Foret Tradition of New Orleans, and DJ Bradley Byley 7:30pm – 11:30pm for a great time.
