Since 1984, the Traylor family has been serving home-cooked food to the locals in the downtown area, in an historic building from the early 1900's. Famous for their chicken and dumplings, burgers, and red beans, rice, and sausage, they serve up daily lunch specials for under $9.00. Grill items include hamburgers, poboys, grilled chicken sandwiches and chef salads. Breakfast is served 'short-order' style until 10am daily. Directions
From I-20 east, take Hall St. exit five blocks north, right on Harrison to the stop sign. Restaurant on the right corner. From I-20 west, take Civic Center exit north to the light, left on Wood St. for one block, then right on S. 6th. Restaurant is two blocks north on the left.
