"My Louisiana" Story Contest Rules

The My Louisiana Story Contest is open to legal residents of the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec) only. No purchase necessary to enter. Winner must be 21 years of age or older.

1). How to Enter:

To enter, you must use an Internet browser to complete the official online entry form and must have Internet access as of April 25, 2008. Participants are encouraged to read these rules, the instructions on the entry page, and the supporting informational material made available through the promotional website. Participants must complete the official entry form by filling out the required fields on the intake form, including but not limited to: first and last name, address, zip code, and email address. Participants must then click on the "Submit" button to be entered into the contest. By clicking "Submit," the entrants agree that they have read, understand and will abide and adhere to the terms and conditions put forth in these Contest Rules. Clicking "Submit" shall be deemed as acceptance of these Contest Rules.

The Louisiana Office of Tourism reserves the right to reject any entry and is under no obligation to disclose the reason(s), if any, for such a rejection.

There shall be only one entry made per person. Multiple entries by the same person may result in disqualification of all such entries.

Participants shall not tamper, copy, modify, or corrupt the administration, security, or proper function of any part of the Louisiana Office of Tourism's website or the My Louisiana Story Contest website. Entries generated by robots or scripts are considered to be a direct violation of contest policy and will result in immediate disqualification of any and all associated entries. Internet access and usage charges applicable to your account including local, long distance, and toll free prefix access charge to reach your Internet Service Provider, any usage charges applicable under your pricing plan and any applicable taxes will continue to apply while you are online in connection with this contest.

The Sponsor, the Louisiana Office of Tourism, is not responsible for telephone, network, electronic, or computer failures of any kind, or for entries that are stolen, misdirected, incomplete, garbled, delayed by computer transmissions, lost, late, damaged, or ineligible.

2). Contest Prizes:

Ten winners will be choosen. The prize for each shall be for all of the following:

A.) Pair of tickets for the 2009 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival
B.) Two-night hotel stay in New Orleans, Louisiana at Harrah's of one of its partner hotels.

The winner will be responsible for all expenses not specifically provided for including, but not limited to, transportation, transfers, taxes, insurance, gratuities, as well as any and all incidentals.

Estimated Retail Value of Grand Prize: (USD) $1,000

Prizes shall be announced no later than September 31, 2008.

All trademarks, service marks, and trade names are proprietary to respective owners.

3). Winner Selection:

All entries become the property of the Louisiana Office of Tourism and will not be acknowledged or returned. The Contest Period begins 12:01 A.M. (all times Central Time) on April 25, 2008 and ends on 11:59 P.M. July 1, 2008. To be eligible to win the grand prize, online entries must be received by 11:59 P.M. on July 1, 2008. Ten (10) Winners for the My Louisiana Story Contest will be chosen by a panel of judges.

Winner(s) will be notified via email provide upon entry. Winner and his/her companion (who must be 21 years of age or older) will each be required to complete, execute, and notarize the Louisiana Office of Tourism Eligibility Certificate and Release forms, which will be sent to the winner within ten (10) days of notification. If any prize notification or any prize is returned as undeliverable, the prize may be awarded to an alternate winner from the pool of eligible entries. If a selected entrant is a Canadian resident, he/she will also have to correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question or he/she is disqualified and forfeits the prize.

The Louisiana Office of Tourism, as may be necessary due to unavailability of prizes, may substitute prizes, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded.

All prize(s) awarded are otherwise not transferable or redeemable for cash, can only be claimed by the individual who submitted the winning entry, and must be accepted as awarded.

In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted the online entry, the entry shall be deemed submitted by the Authorized Holder (as defined below) of the email account. Winners may be requested to provide the Louisiana Office of Tourism with proof that such person is the Authorized Holder (as defined below) of the email address associated with the winning entry. "Authorized Holder" shall mean the natural person assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.).

All prize recipients agree to execute the Louisiana Office of Tourism Eligibility Certificate and Release forms in order to receive their prize. Prizes will be awarded within approximately 25 days of the decision once Eligibility Certificates and Release Forms are received. All taxes on prizes including income taxes and any incidental expenses associated with collection of a prize are the responsibility of the winner. Winner assumes all liability for any damages arising from participation in the Sweepstakes or from any prize awarded hereunder and releases the Louisiana Office of Tourism from any such liability. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use winner's name, city, state, comments, likeness and/or voice for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional compensation.

4). General Conditions:

The total number and quality of entries received in the contest period determines odds of winning a prize. Louisiana Office of Tourism, 1051 N. Third Street, Capitol Annex Building, Baton Rouge, LA 70802 will operate the giveaway. Employees of the Louisiana Office of Tourism, their affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising agencies, and members of the immediate families of each are not eligible.

All federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations apply, and the promotion is subject to the laws of the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec). Entries are void in any jurisdiction where participation is prohibited. In the event this sweepstakes is compromised in any way, electronically or otherwise, that is beyond the control of the Louisiana Office of Tourism, the Louisiana Office of Tourism reserves the right to withdraw the transmission of this sweepstakes and award the remaining prize among entries received prior to the date of the withdrawal. Entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the judging parties and the Louisiana Office of Tourism, whose decisions are final. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification from this sweepstakes promotion. The Louisiana Office of Tourism reserves the right to permanently disqualify from any sweepstakes promotion it sponsors any person it believes has intentionally violated these rules.

5.) Entire Agreement Clause

This (1) document, together with (2) any addenda referenced in this document and issued by the Department, and (3) any exhibits specifically incorporated herein by reference, constitute the entire rules agreement between the parties with respect to this contest.

6). Winners List:

For the names of the prize winners (available within 30 days of the date of the determination of the winner) send a self addressed, stamped envelope to Tiffany Schultz, P.O.
