Louisiana's temperate weather makes it a popular spot for travelers year-round.

Louisiana is fortunate to have four seasons, none of them too extreme. For much of the year, temperatures are mild to hot, allowing residents and travelers to take advantage of the state's many outdoor attractions. In the winter months, average highs are in the 40s and 50s, and January is the state's coldest month. During the summer, the average highs are in the upper 80s, with July being the warmest month. Average temperatures and rainfall amounts vary somewhat between the regions of the north and south.
