Lake Arthur

Lake Arthur is a town on a body of water of the same name, in Jefferson Davis Parish and conveniently located just off of I-10. It was named for one of the area's earliest settlers, Arthur Le Blanc, who made his home on the banks of what was then called La Petite Lac Mermentau. It was formally incorporated as a city in 1903.

Lake Arthur Park is the centerpiece of the city. There, visitors can sunbathe, swim and relax on the beach. The park also has a boardwalk, playground and grills. Next to Lake Arthur Park is one of southwest Louisiana's most celebrated seafood restaurants, Regatta LA Seafood and Steakhouse. Dine on Louisiana classic dishes such as crawfish étouffée on the Lake Arthur waterfront — ideally at sunset — while boats go drifting by.

Outdoor enthusiasts will find no shortage of reasons to visit Lake Arthur. Hunting and fishing outfitters can get you deep into the wildnerness for a true backcountry adventure, while those seeking a milder outdoors experience are encouraged to check out the Flyway Byway. This 55-mile driving trail takes visitors through wilderness areas that sit within the Mississippi Flyway, one of the primary migratory routes for birds in North America.
