You may not have been born on the bayou, but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn to cook the specialties of Cajun country. A cooking school in Lafayette, along our Bayou Bounty Culinary Trail, offers a variety of classes that not only help you learn to cook like a local, but also inspire you to take on the cuisines of other cultures too.

“The Accidental Chef Cooking School is a one-of-a-kind school in Acadiana, where you can learn not just how to cook, but why we cook the way we do, why we use the ingredients we use,” says chef Carlos Russo. “It’s part history lesson, part gastronomical delight.”

Classes offered include daylong workshops to travel cooking classes. The day long courses allow students to recieve hands-on training that immerses them in the food, culture and history behind a five-star meal. These private classes are made to order with a minimum of 10 students and the Accidental Chef works with you and your group to customize the menu you'll be cooking from along with offering on-site cooking demos for your special event.

The Accidental Chef's culinary travel classes feature the allure of cooking in remote kitchens that are enhanced by the destination and surrounding and really embrace the offer of a wonderful escape for those looking for a true Epicurean Adventure with trips to Sicily, Pamplona, Paris and more.
