Vernon Parish Tourism Commission
The wildflower capital of Louisiana. Nestled in the piney woods of west central Louisiana, Vernon Parish offers a vast array of opportunities for sportsmen and nature lovers alike. Hunters, campers, fishermen, and hikers enjoy nature's bounty as they traverse the gently rolling hills through forests studded with freshwater lakes and streams. The semi-tropical climate encourages great diversity of both plant and animal life.
2 blocks East of Hwy 171, on South 3rd St., the heart of the Leesville National Register Historic District. Look for the 1910 Historic Vernon Parish Courthouse, a large white building clearly visible in the downtown area.
