Our Outdoor Photography Tours are guided by "professional wildlife photographers." The tour is available to the beginning photographer, the hobby photographer, and the professional. This particular tour incorporates deluxe hotel accommodations for two nights, professional instruction from our pros, and luxury transportation to and from your hotel to designated points of interest we believe will ensure "award-winning photos!" The first day of the tour, our bus will pick up your group at 6pm and take you out to eat Cajun cuisine at a local favorite restaurant. There, you will have a "meet and greet" session with your photo pro. He/She will discuss things with you regarding your tour the next morning such as animal behavior, how to dress for the tour, camera settings, etc. Your dinner is not included in this package. We will depart the restaurant at approx. 9:30pm for the hotel. After a wonderful night's sleep, you'll wake to the smell of fresh Louisiana coffee brewing and a full breakfast buffet. The tour bus will arrive at the hotel at 8:20am that morning and will depart at approximately 8:50am for the Cameron Prairie National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters Complex. After seeing an amazing short informative film there, you'll get to see "Taunt Marie" (Aunt Marie), the mechanical robot explain the marsh ecosystem. Wander out on the expansive deck to photograph wildlife and nesting birds. (You might even see an alligator!) We will depart from the complex at 9:20am and head for the Pintail Wildlife Drive Boardwalk where we will see and get to photograph many species of plants and wild animals. We'll depart the boardwalk at approx. 10:05am and travel around Pintail Wildlife Drive for the opportunity to photograph birds such as the Snowy Egret, the Blue Heron, several species of Hawks and Eagles, rodents, snakes, deer, etc. We will leave the Cameron Prairie National Wildlife Refuge at 11:25am and head over to "T-Boy's" restaurant for lunch where you
can enjoy Shrimp and Oyster PoBoys, huge fried, fresh Gulf Shrimp Baskets, Gumbo, and MUCH more! (The price of lunch is not included in your tour). After lunch, we will make our way to the Gulf of Mexico (Rutherford Beach) where we will spend some time photographing shore birds, beautiful landscape, and native Louisianians at work and play. We will depart Rutherford Beach at 2:30pm and arrive back at your hotel at approximately 3:30pm. Not only will you want to bring your photography equipment, but bug spray and sun block is a must!
Tours are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
