Margie Bush established a small antiques shop on upper Magazine Street in 1969. Joined by her daughter, Allain, in 1979, the business expanded and moved to the heart of historic Magazine Row, a section known for its many art and antiques shops.
Allain incorporated annual buying trips to Europe, making the shop a landmark enterprise for unique and unusual items. Allain personally selects items for their character and beauty, reflecting her taste for aged elegance.
The twelve room shop displays these items in vignettes designed to highlight the distinctiveness of each piece. The result is what USA Today called “a charming trove of secret places and hidden parts [filled with items] artfully laid out so you want all of it.” Many celebrities have been drawn to the offbeat flare of Bush Antiques.
