May Baily’s Place
May Baily's Place, once one of the better known bordellos in the wildly infamous red-light district known as Storyville, now serves as the Dauphine Orleans hotel bar.
May Baily's Place is located at 415 Dauphine St. in the heart of the French Quarter, just one block from the bustle of Bourbon St. and two blocks from the antique stores and art galleries of Royal St. Jackson Square, the riverfront, and the Aquarium of the Americas are within easy walking distance, as are all of the diverse attractions of the French Quarter and Central Business District areas. From The West: Take I-10 East to the I-10/610 split. Continue on I-10 to the "Orleans Avenue/Vieux Carre" exit (235-A). Move into the far left lane and take the U-turn at the sign that reads "N. Rampart via Toulouse." Merge into the right lane, to the Toulouse entrance into the French Quarter. Go 3 blocks to Dauphine St. and take a right. We are two blocks up on the right hand side. Just pull into the driveway. The Bellman and Front Desk staff will help you form there. From The East: Exit at Orleans/Vieux Carre exit. At the end of the ramp, take a left at the light. Follow Orleans Avenue (which will go back under the Interstate) for 3 blocks until you reach the U-turn on Orleans at the sign that reads "N. Rampart via Toulouse." Merge into the right lane, to the Toulouse entrance into the French Quarter. Go 3 blocks to Dauphine and go right. We are two blocks up on the right. Just pull into the driveway.
