The National Hansen's Disease Museum is located on the grounds of what was the only national leprosarium. It stands as a monument to those who battled Hansen's Disease - researchers and health care professionals, as well as those who suffered from the affliction also known as leprosy. The museum's mission is to collect, preserve and interpret the medical and cultural artifacts of the Carville Historic District. Free and open to the public.
