28TH FESTIVAL LATINO OF BATON ROUGE

 

The Hispanic Apostolate is presenting the twenty-eighth edition of its main fundraising event, the Latin Festival.  The Latin Festival will be celebrated at the Baton Rouge State Fairgrounds on 17200 Airline Hwy., in Baton Rouge, LA 70810.   This location, with plenty of parking space, is appropriated and convenient to our ever growing crowds.

 

On Sunday September 28th, the Latin Festival will be featuring entertainment, food from the different Latin American countries, crafts and vendor booths, activities for children, and much more.

 

Entertainment will be in charge of professional harpist Patrice Fisher, DJ Santos, Mariachi Jalisco, Merengue Four, NOHA Honduran ballet as the local talent, the main attraction will be sisters Vicky and Marisol Terrazas from Los Horscopos de Durango, one of the longest and most successful recording groups in the Regional Mexican genre performing Duranguense band.

 

The Festival will offer a variety of dishes from different countries, like tallarines saltados (Peruvian lo mein), elotes locos (corn on the cob Latin style), Colombian empanadas, Cuban Sandwiches, the savory Mexican tacos and arepas from Venezuela, and to top it off, a variety of traditional Latin desserts.

 

Activities for the children will include games, contests, magician show and many other surprises.

 

The Latin Festival is entirely manned by volunteers, and all the funds raised are used to maintain the Hispanic Center and the different ministries, such as ESL (English as a second language ) classes, immigration services, assistance to the needy, etc.
