4920 Prytania St.,
New Orleans, LA 70115
One of the first Japanese restaurants to offer sushi in New Orleans, this casual restaurant remains the favorite for a large contingent of loyal Uptown eaters. The sushi basics are all represented, and the chef is best known for garnishing rolls and sashimi with complex sauces; perhaps the most talked-about dish involves raw tuna topped with a sort of Asian guacamole. There's also whitefish carpaccio with basil oil, a roll featuring beef and asparagus, another one with fried soft-shell crab, and comforting noodle soups.
