Feliciana Cellars Winery
The stately Spanish Mission-style structure that houses Feliciana Cellars opened its doors in 1994 when the winery made its debut. Two of the founding partners, Leroy Harvey and Rupert Thompson, had been instrumental in passing the Native Wine Law which allowed for wineries to operate in Louisiana. Not long after that law passed, Harvey, Thompson and Jim Hendrickson founded Feliciana Cellars.
Feliciana Cellars produces 9 different varieties of wine, including Esperanza, a sparkling wine, which has received rave reviews. A limited amount of this product is available each year in December. All of our wines are produced from the native Southern Muscadine, a hearty grape that thrives in the heat and humidity of the South. The muscadine produces a light, crisp and fruity wine that pairs well with spicy Louisiana cuisine. Many people enjoy it as a dessert wine, while others find it refreshing for sipping on a hot summer afternoon.
The winery produces some 2,000 - 4,000 cases each year, making it one of the largest in Louisiana.
