Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation: New Canal Lighthouse Museum and Education Center

The lighthouse is19 feet above sea-level. The museum can be accessed either by stairs or elevator "lift". The balcony allows the visitor to get a panoramic view of the New Orleans south shore lakefront.
From I-10, take West End Blvd exit and go north, crossing Robert E Lee Blvd. Lighthouse will be ahead on left. From I-610, exit Canal Blvd, go north to Lakeshore Dr., then left for 1/3 mile. Lighthouse will be on the right at curve. Park across the street.
