Property Description
Discover the treasures of Jean Lafitte at sites throughout south Louisiana: three Acadian cultural centers (in Lafayette, Thibodaux and Eunice), the site of 1815's Battle of New Orleans in Chalmette, a visitor center in New Orleans' French Quarter, and 20,000 acres of wild wetlands at the Barataria Preserve outside Marrero. Each site offers different activities and most are free. Programs include nature and history walks, canoe treks, music and cooking demonstrations, and living history events.
