"Home of the Famous Muffy" Fertittas was the first imported foods store and catering service in Shreveport. Papa Sam Fertitta opened his grocery store in the "Blue Goose District" of Shreveport in the late 1920's. It later turned into a deli after he created his famous "Muffy" sandwich. He and his wife raised their family in an apartment above the store.
