These include the site of the Battle of New Orleans, the Chalmette National Cemetery, the site of the Battle of Pleasant Hill and many other places where re-enactments or commemorations are staged annually. Museums throughout the state hold artifacts, documents and even photos from this crucial period in the nation's history.
