Cane is king at the Louisiana Sugar Festival
Visit New Iberia in late September for a sweet celebration the family will love!
Harvest time celebrations once were common in many parts of the country, but nowhere are the harvest festivities more fun than in Louisiana. For proof, visit the annual Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival in New Iberia. It’s a rollicking good time for every member of the family.
Kids are already getting pumped for this year’s festival, which features a daily carnival of rides and games presented by Mitchell Brothers Shows.
Adults look forward to the annual fais-do-do – street dancing to the tunes of great bands such as Seasoned Soul, Geno Delafose, Andy Smith Band, Mustang Sally, Broken Mojeaux and Rockin’ Dopsie.
Along with the crowning of a sugar queen, a bake-off and plenty of sweet treats, plan on enjoying an art show and boat parade. Make it a sweet September by attending the festival where cane is king. For more details, see Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival.
