Assistant Secretary Jim Hutchinson

Jim Hutchinson was appointed to the position of Assistant Secretary of the Louisiana Office of Tourism on June 1, 2009, by the Lt. Governor Mitch Landrieu and the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism. Jim Hutchinson was chosen for the position following a nationwide search by the Department. Hutchinson has been a leader for nearly 30 years in the travel and tourism industry.

As Assistant Secretary of Office of Tourism, Hutchinson will lead and manage efforts to market and advertise Louisiana to regional, national and international audiences.

A Louisiana native, Hutchinson has served as President of the Kansas City Convention and Visitors Bureau, Director of Sales for the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau, and on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the International Association for Exposition Management.
