Mardi Gras parades in Shreveport Bossier
Enjoy a family-friendly Mardi Gras parade in Shreveport.

Carnival celebrations in Shreveport, Ruston and Monroe emphasize family fun, with plenty of food, music, parades and activities—the kind of entertainment that makes events in this area anything but average.  Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday is February 13, 2018!

Get ready to catch parade throws (aka beads or other trinkets tossed from the floats) in the seas of people waving their arms and shouting, "Throw me something, mister!"

Over the course of two weekends, parades by Carnival organizations called Krewes attract as many as 400,000 visitors. The parades are so successful that in 2005 the American Bus Association named Shreveport's Krewe of Centaur parade one of the Top 100 Events in North America.
