Union and Confederate forces faced each other at Pleasant Hill, near Pelican, Louisiana, on April 9, 1864. To this day, volunteers gather annually to commemorate the events.

More than 400 people join in to re-enact the battle, making the miniature Civil War town come alive. Festivities include a parade, pageant, period dance, church services and open camp activities.  For more information and this year's dates visit Battle of Pleasant Hill or call 318-686-8545.
