1800 society's elite bordello is now a Bed and Breakfast in New Orleans. Great location, a three minute walk to Bourbon St. French Quarter is 1/2 block. Courtyard, hammock, balcony rooms with a view, antiques. Low season $79 up. No surprises: rates that include tax, energy surcharge, occupancy fee, local calls, WiFi. Lagniappe: soft drinks, bottled water, computer center and a generous continental breakfast served in the dining room. (Nope. No paper or plastic - you deserve better!)
Directions
New Orleans French Quarter (you won't be able to see house because of the thick/tall bamboo trees): -From I-10 West traveling East, exit 236A (Esplanade Av.). From exit, go to next traffic light (major intersection), then turn right onto Esplanade Ave. Go to next traffic light, turn left onto N. Rampart St. We are 30 yds. past traffic light on the right, middle of block. Historic districts allow no signs @sidewalk, so look for big bananas painted on wood panels on fence. -From I-10 East traveling WEST, exit 236C (St. Bernard Av.). Exit ramp ends @ traffic light, where you turn left onto St. Bernard Ave. Continue on same street through the next traffic light, where you will pass underneath the Interstate. At the NEXt traffic light (3rd one) turn right onto N. Rampart St. (confusing intersection as St. Bernard, St. Claude, McAllister Place, and N. Rampart all intersect). @ next traffic light, Esplanade Ave., U-turn on N. Rampart and we are on right. -We're 30 yds. from Esplanade traffic light on N. Rampart St., in middle of block on right, HUGE bananas painted on fence (historic houses can't hang signs over sidewalk), French Quarter Realty has billboard in our parking lot. We're 3 mins. from I-10, 1/2 block from French Quarter, 3 min. walk to Bourbon St. No car needed, but secure, gated parking avail.
